What comes first, the chicken or the egg? At Maple Meadow Farm our hens come first.
Our hens are treated with extra special care and are fed the highest quality feed. They are never fed or treated with antibiotics or hormones.
Healthy hens produce healthy eggs.
The flocks live in temperature controlled barns, have feed and water available at all times and are checked on several times a day. They in turn produce an abundance of high quality eggs, which we are proud to deliver to our customers. We package our farm fresh eggs 5 days a week and ship them out promptly in our refrigerated delivery trucks. Deliveries are made on a weekly basis with some larger accounts taking several deliveries a week.
We love local!
Our accounts are local, so our eggs don’t travel far before they are enjoyed. The benefit to the customer is fresher eggs and a better taste.
We are a friendly, caring Vermont family, working a family farm. Our customers enjoy our eggs and love our service, staying with us as wholesale customers for decades and coming into our retail store for years and years.
Safe handling produces a safe egg.
Maple Meadow Farm strictly observes safe-handling practices for our eggs. We pass regular inspections with flying colors and are proud to say we are the only egg producer in Vermont to carry the official Vermont Department of Agriculture Seal of Quality. Our barns are bio-secure with limited access to assure that no unwanted bacteria or disease enters the hen’s living area. Sanitation rules are strictly enforced.
Maple Meadow Farm uses state-of-the-art egg processing equipment. Long conveyor belts bring the eggs from the hen house and through the processing facility. All Maple Meadow Farm eggs pass through a high quality pressure washer. Eggs come out of the washer and then enter the candling station.
Mechanical arms gently pack eggs into the cartons. Shown is a loose carton usually sold to restaurants and food services. Packed cartons come off the line and are boxed for delivery across Vermont in our own fleet of trucks..
Our eggs are sold in markets, grocery stores, and are served by many restaurants, cafes and delis. Our 100% Pure Vermont Maple Syrup is available through our wholesale accounts and our online store.
